This Sunday our 1st team will take on Terenure at Observatory Lane in the Clear Currency National Cup Final.
4 away fixtures have made up the journey to the final, which has taken the lads to some of the furthest corners of the country. A trip to Burndennett, Co. Tyrone in the first round produced a 10 wicket win, before a second round fixture in St. Johnstone, Co. Donegal ended with victory by 2 wickets.
The quarter final clash in Derriaghy resulted in a comfortable 8 wicket win, and set up an all Fingal clash against Rush. The short trip down the road to Kenure in the semi-final proved victorious and ended with another 2 wicket win.
Meanwhile, Sunday's opponents Terenure have beaten Cliftonville Academy, Bonds Glen, County Galway and Railway Union on the way to the final.
Ahead of the match, 1st Team Captain Eddie Richardson gave us a few words: "The squad is looking forward to Sunday's final. We can't wait to get going and hopefully bring back some silverware to the club. It would be great to win a cup the Club has never won before."
The three matches between these two sides this season have produced two North County wins, by 151 runs and 10 wickets, and one victory for Terenure by 9 wickets.
This Sunday's match will surely be a tighter affair, so make sure to travel down to Rathmines this weekend to support the lads.
