For the first time in the Club's history, we will have a Men's 6th Team. Their first game will take place tomorrow afternoon in Clondalkin. Skipper Venkat Kodali gave us a few words ahead of their opening fixture.
"Firstly, I am delighted that North County Cricket Club will be fielding a 6th XI team for the first time in our history. I am very proud to have been selected as 6th team captain for this season and thank the club for the opportunity and being part of this historic moment.
"The 6th team will compete in Cricket Leinster’s Division 18 and the ‘Adamstown B’ Cup containing a good mix of new and mature teams. Our 6th team will have a good balance of adult and youth players with focus on nurturing our young guns and future stars. With the 6th team, now we can offer our youth players experience of the league format and beginners to get back into cricket.
"Our focus this season is to play as a team and win as many games as possible. We can do this by participating in the practice session every week, knowing and encouraging your teammates. Just bring yourself, some sense of humor and enjoy the game.
"Finally, I would like to wish all players, coaches, and volunteers all the best for the upcoming season. I’m hopeful that we will have plenty of success to celebrate throughout the club during this season."
